20 questions: Tagged by Ashma

1. Name Three Most Valuable Assets?

Positive attitude, Maturity and Confidence.

2. If you have the chance, what would you probably say to your beloved one?

Ah.... well! I would settle for something on the lines of this: "Thanks for making me look forward with anticipation in life, rather than looking back with regret and doubt."

3. If you were to be stranded on a desert island, who are the 3 (I too make it four :-)..) blog buddies you would take with you?

Annapoornima: Our mindset appears to match a lot! So I would love to meet her, desert island being an excuse ;-) !

Casablanca: A fiery wit if I have ever seen one :-)!

Dreamvendor: The most scintillating stories (fiction, I assume) I have ever read. Could dig his brains as to how he gets such ideas :-)!

Anand: Love the thought process of this analytical guy to bits !

4. Where is the place that you want to go the most?

The Himalayas! There's something about those remote mountain peaks which is both alluring and mysterious.

5. If you can have 1 dream to come true, what would it be?

Ha ha... no dreams, only goals! I have a goal of developing an alternative career. And if you ask what it is, all I can answer at this point of time is this: I wish I knew it myself :-)!

6.Till now, what is the moment that you regret the most?

The one moment which I had regretted the most became a turning point in my life. So I no longer consider it a 'regret'.

7. What are you afraid to lose the most?

My identity and independence

8. What would you do if you found a briefcase full of money?

Invest but only after assuring that it's mine ;-)!

9. If you meet someone that you love, would you confess to him/her?

Sheesh! Not again ;-) !

10. List out 3 good points of the person who tagged you.

Oh well...! Ashma, this is for you (mimicking the deep, sexy baritone of a guy :D)

Sweet, simple and similar :D

11. What are the requirements that you wish from your other half?

Mature, well established and patient (read as not given to temper tantrums)

12. Which type of person do you hate the most?

I have taken a long time to find this out: manipulative! I can tolerate manipulations of the gentle kind but my patience runs dry with those extreme types determined to run your life....and emotions!

13. What is your ambition?

Sighhhhhhhhhhhh.......to learn some tact and diplomacy !

14. What is the thing that will make you think someone is a bad person?

Hmmmm..... I am the sort of person who would identify the good qualities even in a 'bad' person. Therefore, there's no definition for a bad person in my dictionary. The 'best' people, after all, have shades of grey.

15. (My question) If God appears before you, what would you ask?

To grant the power of self-realisation among people. Because, there's nothing as powerful as self-realisation to make one aware of one's wrong-doings and set them right/atone for them before it is too late.

16. If you could do one thing different in life, what would it be?

Ha ha....being a non-conformist, I appear to do all different things in my life! So would just add on to the list ;-)!

17. Are you a shopaholic or no?

Er....I would prefer the term impulsive shopper! However, splurging on thyself improves one's mood dramatically (by personal experience, of course)!

18. What is your stress buster?

Several, since I get stressed often (wry smile): a good book, a long walk, photographing mundane subjects like the one below.....(However, I am the first to admit that talking isn't such a good stress buster for me as I have a tendency to do just the opposite during stress: clamp up!)

19. It would be 2008 in a few days, do you have a new year’s resolution?

It would be 2009 in approximately 11 months. Calculations apart, I have lots of resolutions, none specific to any new year :-)! Foremost is: Thou shall remain positive :-)!

20. What’s one thing in yourself that you would like to change?

Hmmmm..... I really wish I could be less hard on myself! In more than one situations, I have forgiven the rest, but not before being bitter, angry and calling myself a hundred types of fool!

Auuuunnndddddddddddd the grand finale (the part I loooouuurrrrve most): I (hereby) tag Shruthi, Anitha, Charu, Khushi and Angada :D!

Count weirdo !!

TaDaaanTaDaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnn.............. !!

Tag-time, and I could not think of a much (ahem) nicer way of announcing this to all and sundry :-) !

*Trumpets-cat-calls-wolf-whistles*

Definition of weird - strikingly odd or unusual; "some trick of the moonlight; some weird effect of shadow"- Bram Stoker

So, going by this definition, you 'lucky' folks are hereby presented with eight weird things about ol' moi :-)

Hmmm........ Ermm...... Yaa....... Eee...... Aaah...... Ummm...... Ohhh......

Pah ! Enough dawdling. Better get this done and over with!

  • I am a logical being. According me, there has to be a rational explanation for every thing that walks, talks, thinks and in general, exists on this earth. There have been instances, both professional and personal, where I had not had a moment’s peace because I had not been able to come up with a suitable explanation for something. During such times, a sore bear would be more approachable than yours truly – (alas) such is my disposition! Unfortunately, I cannot come up with explanations all the time. And it has taken a long time for this fact to sink in.

  • My head is bigger in proportion. And (sighhhhhhhhhhhhh), all my photos prove it! It looks as if I have an inflated head (Boooooooo hooooooooo). Sniffle-sniffle, so much for looks! No wonder I am at the receiving end of so many rejections. Baah !

  • I am never able to sit through a movie without fidgeting unless it is absorbing. While watching KANK, if not for J&J, and the songs (of course!), I would have run away from the cinema hall.

  • I cannot forgive twice. Period. Better explained here.

  • It may sound strange but I have never been able to get along with most members of my sex simply because I cannot relate to most of them! My friends’ group largely consists of guys (they are relatively less complex, you see) and few ladies with whom it is a pleasure to talk to!

  • With all due modesty, I can declare (proudly?) that I know myself better :-). I know for sure that I have not spend as much time understanding any other person as much as I did to understand myself, and to accept myself. If you pigeon-hole me as just another girl, you are dead wrong, because I am not!

  • I am very picky in choosing my friends - those few who have known me beyond the silent reticence I project. And no, it is not because of I-am-the-golden-girl or I-do-not-like-anybody-below-my-station attitude. The most plausible explanation I have been able to come up with (aaah........ the result of a logical mind.. :-).......) is that there are so very less people with their head firmly on their shoulders. Stability, intelligence and honesty (with me, aaff caarse) – if you have all these, I would love to have you as my friend :-)!

  • I like. Or I do not like. There is nothing in between. No dithering. Aaah…. binary thought has made my decision-making process, and thus my life, so much easier.

  • I am independent to a fault. So much that S had to practically beg me to cry because I was too tensed to let go of all the problems in my life

So dear GAR, you thus join the esteemed list of people I have given bhav to regarding this tag business. I hope you would be able to sleep soundly from tonight :-)!

So, dear readers out there (who are not tearing their hair out after reaching the end of this ‘sob-story), with all the aforementioned ‘data’, do you think that I am too weird to get along with?

My phursht 'weird' tag :)

Thanks to Shruthi who has tagged me to list five weird things about me.....and five is too less a number for a total weirdo like me :)!

  • I am a foodie.....I love food :)! I do not converse much while I am eating. People have to drag out monosyllabic replies. So it does not take a Sherlock Holmes to figure out that any meeting luncheons/dinner organized during the course of my professional life will remain a surefire disaster.
  • I do not talk much.People who have known me during my college are the first to point out this, where I was a pakka chatterbox. However I am a yuxtremely good listener - I can remember the nuances of conversations carried out quite some years back rather well......and tend to surprise/shock people with it. My RAM sakkath good, you see :) !
  • And then there is the type of weirdness associated with being a lady and not able to fit into a stereotype of one. Oh.....I can go on and on about this but I will limit myself to just one thing – I love trekking. I can be ready for a trek at very short notices (you see.....it does not take more than half-an-hour for me to pack) but the place has to capture my interest first. However, if the company is good, I am willing to travel to the ends of the earth :)!
  • Most of my weirdness has to do with the fact that I am a mixture of opposites. One such thing is my penchant for beaches. I can sit for hours staring into nothing on beaches but I cannot bear to sit (still) for a three-hour movie.....and a senti one at that (Psst.....I simply walked out of Devdas – too much of melodrama is injurious to my health).
  • Another weird thing about me – I do exhibit the feminine virtue of tears from time to time but for totally unexpected reasons. I still recall watching Rang De Basanti when people left-right and center were weeping buckets. I was too concerned about the dwindling popcorn in my hand. And I cry for reasons as obscure as seeing off my close friends at the airpot/bus-train station. Or when regret creeps in.....

I am a closed person - I do not like talking about myself. But then, what have I been blabbering about all this while?

Weird? Paradox? Yup.....that’s me.
