Me, myself and....

I started my new year with a croak.

CROOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAKKKKKKKKKKKKKK....this was more or less the sound (rather noise) that ensued from my throat when I tried to sing.

Suffice to say, I’ve got a sore throat.

Not a bad idea considering the fact that my already limited speech is going to be more limited. But I will miss singing in my bathroom. Sigh.......

Spent the New Year’s eve on the beach, enjoying a boat-ride with total strangers and just watching fading sun set ablaze the turbulent sea. Even for a short period of time, the effect was mesmerizing. There’s something about the sea......what..... I wish I could put a finger on it but no, I cannot think of any other description except hypnotic. Hypnotic......and strangely peaceful.......

Long time ago when I was young (well..... I feel quite old now), one of my friends’ grandmother told me during one of our delightful chats “Never ever lie to yourself”. All of ten years, I was too young to understand the significance behind those words. Now, after more than a decade, I realize the weight of this piece of advice....and with every passing day, I realize it all the more.

I realize that I am different.....different in this respect. I am neither an ego-booster nor a morale-flogger. I never pretend to like a person, nor do I dislike anyone to the level of ignorance. I am free with my compliments because I know that I am making them known to people who really deserve it. Faking is not something with which I am comfortable. I am honest....to myself....and sometimes painfully so. I know that this would not let me go very far in my profession, but to change is like growing a new skin – one painful process indeed. I believe that the biggest hypocrite is one who lies to himself. And invariably, my friends' circle comprise of individuals who have this unique trait embedded in one or the other aspect of their lives.

Enough, this is the limit. I will put a stop to my self-indulgence of talking about myself......

Have a successful 2007.

Going to beaches, hills and other romantic places without a partner is not a very brilliant idea, because you should be complementing the nature which is complete.

Naturally ,I think you need a honest partner of opposite sex.

oh, do we have this one more thing in common ??? :D

Well....if one can find peace in solitude, one can find peace in onself.

peace in solitude....!!!
Hmmmmmmm (sigh not a moan :-))

Indian women comments:
Sushmita Sen at 31 believes marriage and love are part of a cosmic design.

Aishwarya after running around trees and cameras is running around temples.

Now you want to find peace in oneself at beaches.

well for ur loneliness my experience says
" tell me who ur friends are and I will tell you who u are"
also
" tell me what u eat and i will tell you who u are"

Now is ur best friend (Mr/Miss/Mrs D as I can remember) single or married?

Tell me about the beach.. :).. Best place to be alone or in a group of friends.

True again about being honest to oneself. Sometimes the wavelengths dont match initially. But trying to find the good things does improve the situation. But again, its your choice whether to go for it or not.. :D.. As you get older, your mind will expand. :)

...that of being honest, with oneself...
btw now a days u have been running around unnecessory things,
sit back and relax, thats what is real chitra isnt it?
...like like a spider, at center of a web of thousand connections
calm, still and just observing...

I think you are in confusion
once you say Aishwarya will be offended and once you say spider will be offended.
Be clear I say :-).

I can't believe D is she and is married. Are you sure!
Did you attend the wedding.

What about questions of maturity and experience.

What did you learn from her wedding and how is her spouse.
Are they living together.

Oops am I going into confidentials.

Chitra,

Good point made. Never lie to oneself.

But so many times, we do that not with the purpose of boasting , but just to satisfy ourselves. Ofcourse, it haunts us later in our life.......

"Never lie to oneself" ....its a good stmt....nice 2 be a part of your companions on that day...-:)

One question is haunting me even without lying.
Does never lying to oneself mean you can lie to others.

Nope...you can lie...but lying to any person who means a lot to you is as good as lying to yourself.
