With the fond hope....

This season seems to be that of weddings. We received as many as 20 invitations for the months of April and May alone! And I, being as choosy as ever, attended only one – that of Aki. I have one word to describe the wedding – ordered chaos! But the fact that even I have to face the ‘music’ in the near future (hopfully .. :)) prevents me from making more fun of the entire procedure.

I was the unofficial photographer of the event. And since I get bored browsing through marriage routine snaps of the couple, the guests etc, I captured only those which I liked – those of children, banana-platter breakfast and meals :), the couple in various stages of indecision, a few goof-ups, and those of the bridal jitters! Suffice to say that they will remain personal, to be shared with only a few chosen people. Otherwise, I doubt if I will ever remain alive to see the next day’s dawn, (un)thanks to Aki.

The highlight of the entire trip took place during our return journey back to Bangalore. The security was beefed up around the terminus because the arrival of a very prominent political leader. KG and I were on our way in when we were stopped by a young policeman to whom we had to show our train ticket for identification. He then began to lecture us to be careful with our goods like mobile etc. Finally, after a polite enquiry which negated the fact that we were not (irresponsible) college students, he let us go with a courteous apology. Wow.....did we look that young (and carefree)? Or maybe he just wanted to talk to us.....Well, in any case, I take that as a compliment !Tee heee......:)

Since I was prepared for the eventual transfer, and hence separation, of Aki, I was quite mentally prepared to whole-heartedly enjoy the marriage, and I did. But ya, I will miss my version of ‘talking well’ a lot – one person from whom I perfected the art of listening, and one of the few people whom I communicated with.

I have always consoled myself that if I ‘lose’ a good friend, it’s only to gain a better one. True that they cannot replace anyone. But I do not think that it should be viewed in that angle as well. ‘Coz every relationship is unique just as every person involved. No room for comparisons at all.....

So far, so good......do I have to say "Touchwood"? :)

May be thats how life is... U seem to be losing one person in life when another one comes along. Thought the two cant be compared, it just increases the number of people u love and vice versa

How about looking at it like you lose your good friend Aki and gain a better friend Aki!!! Sure, she will not be there in front of you, but don't you think you and Aki are the sort of friends who can pick up from the point where you had previously left no matter after how long you are meeting?! :)

Tee hee....some things are best shared among friends. Let it remain that way. Once public, they lose their charm :)!
