Strange(rs) are the ways of life......

If anyone had asked me if I would be willing to go for a trek with total strangers I would have scoffed at them. For me, company mattered a lot. A movie, a lunch, a conversation, or even a walk with the ‘right’ company and my day would be made. Precious moments with them would be carefully filed away (only to be retrieved later).

Yet, I accepted an invitation for a trek with people whom I had not even met/known – except two – one whom I knew personally and other through exchange of e-mails. The rest were....strangers....who knew one another.

Climbing hills (1780 mts.. :D...), trekking, eating, travelling (with music chaloo full-blast), ribbing each other, non-stop chatting ...I enjoyed the sense of togetherness......as much as I would have enjoyed it with my friends.

A few snapz here.....

.................................Road to eternity

...............................Check out the slopes

....................................Another rolling slope

...................................Misty mountain

It was just destiny which made us meet. Now all that's left to see is what (else) destiny has in store for us....

To an encore....*clinking of a raised glass*.

Update: On public demand, more snapz here..... and more info about the trip here.

Wowie!! When did you go?
Strangely, a few years back, I also accepted, against my very nature, to go on a trek with people I didn't know, except one. And I had a blast :D

Same Old Anon: Wonderful snaps.....do post some more of those if you have them.....it is rather strange and refreshing that once in a while one enjoys a chore when it is done contrary to one's own nature......

Nice snaps. Try white water rafting too if there is a river near by. That is also an exhilarating experience.

Dear namesake,

Lovely photographs!

It is the strangers who become the best companions as u can enjoy and let loose yourself I make my travel to office (1 hr one way) enjoyable by talking to person sitting next to me.

One gets to learn a lot and no gossips!

And such trips make us live again. Otherwise we merely exist in our mundane routines.

I have been on similar treks too with strangers and concur with ur experience.

"It was just destiny which made us meet. Now all that's left to see is what (else) destiny has in store for us...."

But this never happened to me anytime. ;-) I think I have been going on the wrong treks
