Long live Prince (charming)!!

One of the top ten corrupt countries in the world....

Where cricket borders is a religion which almost borders on fanatism....

Where the rich become richer and the poor poorer....

Where reservation has reared its ugly head to play havoc with the lives of the next generation....

Where the biggest question plaguing taxpayers is “Where does all the money go?”...

Where it’s considered a disadvantage to remain upright and honest...

Where Varanasi is portrayed as a city of doom to child widows...

Where politics has played its part in touting a foreigner as a future PM....

Where harsh life has conditioned the minds of people to near-numbness...

Where terrorists have made their presence felt through repeated attacks....

Where reports of communal disturbances every day are considered absolutely normal.......

It’s heartening to see such a country unite through prayers for the safety of five-year-old Prince who was finally rescued after a 50 hour ordeal in a 60 feet deep pit. And it was not the politicians, the army or the media but the surrounding localites who were the real heroes.......who provided closed-circuit cameras (to monitor the condition of the child) and oxygen tanks without the aid of which Prince would not have lived to celebrate his sixth birthday.

It happens only in India (?) !!

the report says that army rescued it!!.. but say the localities rescued?.. what is true?.. but truly! the locals and the socail bond between people is what makes them to be together.. !! and this can happen only here!!

sujit, ya i agree,
but the media coverage too was not proper.
they just hype around just anything...u know, no news regarding lebanon that day!

btw...reservations is a grave mistake govt has done,
and they have to pay for that.

Yeah Chitra... Very interesting. We have formed a rescue team comprising experts from various fields to bring out Princes from Pits. Anyone can fall into the pits and we will do the rescue act. We are inviting you openly. No charges.... (Conditions apply)

hey, u should give the army their due..it was they who after all provided the cameras and the equipment and did actually carry out the whole operation!

The army did rescue Prince...but what I am saying is the credit should go to the locals as well for their bit!

Hmmm...reservation did serve the purpose earlier...

Hyuck hyuck....me ROTFL :D!!

It's not that I am not giving the army its due....just that the locals had the presence of mind to keep the boy alive :)!

oh! yeah you are right!.. but media is more focussed on army and almost neglecting locals..! I belive media is no more the media.. it was supposed to be!... its crazy now..

Hmmmm....one cannot rule out the media..if not for it, we could never be updated about Prince. Just that sometimes the priorities and focus are so different that they earn public ire rather than sympathy.

i too feel media is not doing what they are supposed to do.
media is powerful but it should be impartial,
they sit in judgement, and they are bit too loud in what they say abt everything.

Sujit said...

yeah, its true. but now a days the attention is something else than to put on facts together!..naa

With due respect to Prince, I feel the whole rescue operation was blown out of proportion. Why shower him with cash, et all. There are 100s of Princes' who succumb everyday for no fault of theirs. Who will care for them?

Maybe some journalist stumbled on the situation and decided to show it to the rest of the world. But ya...the outcome has been a bit exaggerated!

""It happens only in India (?) !!"

It happens everywhere. Only in india you get the exaggeration and excess coverage of this kind.

When a mere mole-rescue can take coverage of gigantic propotions in US, the coverage of a five-year old trapped in a 60ft deep well is ...well...to say the least justified. But yes, this time media has gone out of its way to highlight it....and speculate.

not justified when so many people are dying in war!

That's where the media is erring. And if they don't the public makes up by preferring to watch Ms. Universe over any war-coverage.

Why do we have to compare anything with anything to justify it? Why cannot we look at things as what they are and justify it? In my opinion, everything US media does is always overboard.

I don't know if you have seen this episode of Simpsons, it is hillarious. Well , me thinks every episode is hillarious. That is a completely different story. :-)
