Maturity and Experience are two closely related but different words. Maturity is when we learn from experience. Experience is quite self-explanatory.
Let me explain further: we fall a day because one of the steps is of a different height. That is an experience. If we remember that when we go there next time and walk carefully that is maturity. If we don't, we will keep experiencing.
As we saw, there is a good probability of maturity resulting from experience but it need not be true always.
Further, maturity need not result only from our own experience. It could come from : reading, knowledge gaining, discussion, thinking, applying ourself in different positions, by knowing history/past, by looking at both sides of coin, when we look at larger picture etc.

That was some attempt at explaining the difference, RK - but not very apt - going by the same analogy and logic, a lot of monkeys in India should be eligible to claim themselves as Mature!

Not always. Some people new mature no matter how old they grow.
